The Electrical Technician is responsible for installing all wiring, circuits and outlets required to power, lights, machines and other equipment in a working area. This position is in charge of troubleshooting the wiring system to ensure that it is functioning properly.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition at all times.

  2. Maintain all the equipment and performs all preventive maintenance tasks as required.

  3. Troubleshooting electrical problems with specialized tools such as voltmeters, cable testers, thermal scanners and ammeters.

  4. Using hand and power tools like screwdrivers, saws, drills, wire strippers and conduit breakers to repair and replace wiring and equipment.

  5. Replace busted bulbs and other lighting fixtures within the facility.

  6. Cleans motor and motor control centre, lubricates the motor bearings.

  7. Maintain and repair plant intercom units.

  8. Maintains and operates the generator during power outages.

  9. Checks the ampere loads of all running motors during plat operation and performs preventive maintenance as directed by the Engineering Supervisor.

  10. Records the daily accomplishments in the provided logbook, and the work environment is kept safe and clean.

  11. Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and calibrate equipment as needed.

  12. Operates the Com Dryer, Conveyor Transfer and other Machines in the operations.

  13. Perform other task assigned by immediate supervisor.
