Finance Manager

We're looking for a proactive and meticulous Finance Manager to own our financial operations and lead a dedicated team. This role is perfect for a hands-on leader who is equally passionate about developing people and optimizing processes.

Our ideal candidate is a natural problem-solver with a proven track record in operational finance. You're the person who anticipates challenges, spots inefficiencies and uses financial data as a powerful tool to guide business strategy, growth and profitability.

This is a remote role, but it requires seamless collaboration with our Australian operations. Experience working with Australian financial compliance (BAS, Payroll Tax, LSL) is a significant advantage.

What You'll Do

You'll play a critical role in steering our financial health and supporting our operational success:

• Lead & Develop Your Team: Mentor and manage a team of two Finance Coordinators, ensuring high standards in payroll, contractor payments, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and ordering client consumables.
• Drive Financial Reporting & Analysis: Provide financial analysis for client quotations, manage site P&L reporting, complete the month-end close process, and own the annual budget and regular forecasting.
• Own Compliance & Operations: Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS), manage payroll tax and Long Service Leave (LSL) obligations, oversee contract management, manage all company insurances, and review/approve payments.
• Optimize Systems: Manage team system access and permissions within our financial software.

What We're Looking For

Must-Have Experience & Skills:

• 5+ years in finance/accounting, with 2+ years managing a finance team. A CPA qualification (or progress toward it) is favourable.
• Strong Operational Finance Expertise: Great commercial acumen and proficiency with P&L & balance sheet, monthly reporting, compliance, payroll, and AR/AP, with a focus on supporting business operations.
• Analytical Rigor: A sharp eye for discrepancies, process gaps, and opportunities to enhance efficiency.
• Proven Leader: Ability to inspire teams, pivot priorities, and dive into detail under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
• Business-First Mindset: A track record of treating finance as a driver of operational success, not just a backend function.
• Tech Proficient: Skilled in accounting software (e.g., Xero) and advanced Excel/Google Sheets.
