JOB DESCRIPTION FOR A STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Qualifications as a Structural Engineer:

• A bachelor's degree in structural engineering, civil engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• With 2-3 years of relevant experience in structural engineering or a similar role, with significant exposure to projects within Europe.
• With proven experience in Eurocode standards in structural design and analysis and European building regulations
• Experience with structural engineering software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, or similar).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in structural design and analysis software.
• Effective project management and organizational abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Your responsibilities as a Structural Engineer would be:

A. Design and Analysis:

• Designing engineering solutions for structures that have structural defects in accordance with Eurocode standards. This would include the design of CFRP (carbon fiber) and the use of other innovative design solutions
• Perform structural analysis using advanced software tools to ensure the integrity and safety of designs. Analysis of laboratory results and providing solutions based on these results
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications for project documentation.

B. Project Management:

• Lead structural engineering projects from conception through to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate structural designs with overall project requirements.

C. Compliance and Standards:

• Ensure all structural designs comply with relevant Eurocode standards and local building regulations within Europe.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in Eurocode and other relevant engineering standards.
• Assist in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures related to structural engineering and compliance.

D. Collaboration and Communication:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including civil engineers, mechanical engineers, and project managers to deliver comprehensive engineering solutions.
• Communicate effectively with clients, presenting structural designs, analysis results, and project updates.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.

E. Innovation and Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for innovation in structural design and engineering practices.
• Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project efficiency and quality.
• Conduct research and development activities to explore new materials, technologies, and methodologies in structural engineering.

F. When the workload does not occupy the entire shift, the employer may assign additional tasks, which may include, but are not limited to:

• Preparing estimates and assessing quotations.
• Drafting specifications and proposals that stand out for contractors.
• Submitting tenders and conducting post-tender negotiations.
• Assisting team members with ongoing projects or tasks.
