Our client is looking for a highly skilled Microsoft Security Engineer to join their Engineering team based in the Philippines. This role is ideal for a seasoned IT security professional with deep expertise in Microsoft security solutions. You'll play a key role in enhancing security across Microsoft 365 environments for a wide range of clients, supporting critical initiatives including EDR deployment, vulnerability management, and Microsoft Sentinel operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage Microsoft security solutions across customer environments

  • Deploy and optimize Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Identity, and Office 365

  • Lead vulnerability management, including MDVM, Nessus scans, Secure Score, and remediation

  • Implement and manage Microsoft Sentinel for SIEM/SOAR functions

  • Analyze and respond to security incidents and threats

  • Create and maintain documentation for security policies, configurations, and best practices

  • Utilize tools such as Defender for Cloud and Defender for Identity

  • Apply deception techniques like honeypots and decoy accounts

  • Support audits, risk assessments, and compliance requirements

  • Provide expert guidance to clients on security best practices

  • Manage SOAR playbooks and automation workflows in Microsoft Sentinel

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security into IT solutions

  • Assist in delivering security awareness training and phishing simulations

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–7 years of experience in IT security with a focus on Microsoft security technologies

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender suite and Microsoft Sentinel

  • Advanced knowledge of vulnerability management practices and tools

  • Proficient in Kusto Query Language (KQL) for analytics and threat hunting

  • Strong incident response and threat detection skills

  • Deep understanding of Microsoft 365 security (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint)

  • Familiarity with Zero Trust models, identity protection, and conditional access

  • Experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment is highly desirable

  • Scripting and automation knowledge (PowerShell, JSON) is a plus

Preferred Certifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200) – strongly preferred

  • Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100)

  • Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900)

  • Other relevant certifications (CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security ) are a plus
