About the Role

The Lending (Product Management & Client Services) department is responsible for contracting and managing all lending agreements for private individuals and business customers. The Back Office Lending Specialist will handle end-to-end processes for lending contracts, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellent service delivery. The role requires proficiency in Dutch and English, strong analytical skills, and expertise in loan operations.


Key Responsibilities

Loan Contract Management & Validation

  • Process and manage all lending contracts in line with workplace instructions.
  • Capture and track tasks via ServiceNow and/or a shared mailbox.
  • Perform detailed checks on signatures, documentation, and evidence before releasing funds.
  • Navigate multiple ING tools to retrieve, verify, and update information.
  • Execute and monitor post-sample controls according to established rules.
  • Authorize the release of funds after completing all required validations.

In-Life Management (ILM)

  • Conduct rate reviews, update client data, and process changes in back-end systems.
  • Liaise with Belgian business clients and ING colleagues using structured email templates in Dutch or English.
  • Analyze received documents and update systems accordingly.

Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure all actions comply with Risk and Compliance guidelines.
  • Escalate irregularities, doubts, or issues to the lead or designated SPOC for ING Belgium.

Translation & Communication Support

  • Assist with quality checks for translations between Dutch and English.
  • Act as subject matter expert for end-to-end processes, especially cases requiring Dutch communication.

Collaboration & Process Improvement

  • Coordinate closely with the Belgium Central ILM team to manage workflow, priorities, and process optimization.
  • Identify and propose efficiency improvements to reduce errors and enhance productivity.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English (written and verbal).
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in loan operations (back office), with general banking knowledge.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in using banking systems, workflow tools (e.g., ServiceNow), and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to work mid or night shifts, including PH holidays, and render overtime as needed.
