Software Testing Lead

UST is seeking a QA Lead who will design and implement QA strategies to guarantee the reliability and quality of software applications. Applicants should have extensive experience with Scrum, client communication, and hands-on testing. Outstanding written and verbal skills are required, along with the ability to collaborate closely with domain and technical experts.

  • Guide and mentor QA team members on best practices, strategy, and defect management
  • Establish and update QA standards, processes, and documentation
  • Oversee test planning and ensure adequate coverage for sprints and releases
  • Communicate proactively with clients to clarify requirements or acceptance criteria
  • Take part in client meetings, demos, refinement sessions, and walkthroughs
  • Break down requirements into testable scenarios linked to user stories
  • Perform manual testing, including functional, regression, integration, and support for UAT
  • Conduct exploratory tests to reveal hidden issues or edge cases
  • Develop and run test cases, checklists, and test data
  • Confirm fixes and changes during development cycles
  • Monitor test progress, defects, and compliance with QA processes
  • Produce QA reports, dashboards, and summaries for stakeholders
  • Identify quality gaps and drive ongoing improvements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Extensive experience in quality assurance and web application testing
  • At least 2 years in a QA Lead role
  • Strong background in Scrum/Agile methodologies
  • Demonstrated expertise in analyzing business and technical requirements, verifying, and developing software
  • Knowledge of software and application development lifecycles
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities—able to troubleshoot and debug complex issues
  • Exceptional communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience in the retail industry is preferred; retail business knowledge is a plus
  • Amenable to working midshift and hybrid (McKinley)
