PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Medical Care and Treatment:

  • Providing primary medical care to employees, including diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries.
  • Administering first aid and emergency care when needed.
  • Referring employees to specialists or emergency services when necessary.
  • Conducting health consultations and follow-up care.

Health Promotion and Prevention:

  • Developing and implementing health programs and wellness initiatives.
  • Conducting health assessments (e.g., annual physical exams, pre-employment screenings).
  • Promoting healthy lifestyles and preventive healthcare practices.

Occupational Health and Safety:

  • Assessing and mitigating workplace health hazards.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Monitoring employee health in relation to work-related exposures.

Administrative and Reporting:

  • Maintaining accurate and confidential employee medical records.

  • Advising management on health and wellness-related matters.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Assessing employee fitness for work, including return-to-work clearances.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

  • Licensed Medical Doctor (MD)
  • With Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) training/certification
  • At least 2 years of experience in occupational or industrial health
  • Strong knowledge of workplace health regulations and practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be accredited by major healthcare providers (e.g., Intellicare, Maxicare, Medicard, Philcare, Cocolife etc.)
