Job Summary

The Veterinarian is responsible for providing medical care, diagnosis, and treatment to animals under the clinic or organization's care. The role involves conducting check-ups, performing surgeries, administering vaccinations, and advising pet owners or clients on proper animal health management. The Veterinarian also ensures compliance with local animal welfare laws and professional veterinary standards.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care and Treatment

  • Examine animals to diagnose illnesses, injuries, or other health conditions.
  • Prescribe medication, administer vaccines, and perform minor and major surgeries.
  • Provide emergency medical care and follow-up treatment plans.
  • Monitor and record the progress and recovery of patients.

Preventive Health and Client Education

  • Advise pet owners or clients on nutrition, preventive care, and overall animal well-being.
  • Conduct vaccination programs, deworming, and disease prevention initiatives.
  • Educate clients about responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.

Operations and Record Management

  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records of all animal patients.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sterilization of equipment, tools, and treatment areas.
  • Support the clinic or facility in maintaining regulatory compliance with the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) and local ordinances.

Team Collaboration and Supervision

  • Work collaboratively with veterinary technicians, assistants, and administrative staff.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to junior veterinary staff or interns when applicable.
  • Participate in professional development and training to stay updated with the latest veterinary practices.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in the Philippines.
  • Valid Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) license.
  • Preferably with 1–3 years of clinical experience in small animal practice, though new board passers are welcome to apply.
  • Strong diagnostic, surgical, and communication skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and committed to animal welfare.
  • Willing to work onsite within Metro Manila, including weekends or rotating shifts as needed.
