Job Title: Senior Payroll Accountant (US)
Work Setup & Schedule:
- Hybrid - 2 weeks onsite during onboarding; required onsite during monthly and quarterly team meetings and when required by the manager/client
- 8PM to 5AM
What you'll be doing:
Primary Responsibilities – Payroll (60–70%)
Payroll Processing & Compliance
- Execute end-to-end payroll processing using Dayforce, PST, and ADP.
- Manage payroll inputs including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, hours worked, deductions, garnishments, and benefits.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax rules, labor regulations, and labor contracts.
- Collaborate with HR and external vendors to resolve discrepancies and manage data flow.
Reconciliation & Reporting
- Perform payroll audits and reconciliations, including documentation of SOX controls.
- Prepare or review payroll journal entries and reconcile related general ledger accounts.
- Support year-end processes, including W-2 preparation and compliance reporting.
Support & Analysis
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from managers in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to ensure audit readiness.
- Analyze payroll data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
Secondary Responsibilities – General Accounting & FP&A (30–40%)
General Accounting
- Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries and amortization schedules in NetSuite.
- Perform account reconciliations as requested.
- Support audit documentation and respond to audit-related inquiries.
FP&A Support
- Assist in preparing financial reports and consolidating data for analysis.
- Maintain Excel-based models used for budgeting and forecasting.
- Perform basic variance analysis and provide initial insights to support decision-making.
Accounts Payable
- Process invoices through to payment.
- Update/verify vendor data including banking information, addresses, etc.
- Correspond with vendors regarding missing invoices, missing payments, ACH/address changes, etc.
- Support audit documentation and respond to audit-related inquiries.
What will make you a great fit:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience, preferably supporting U.S.-based companies.
- Experience in Shared Services Centers (SSC) or Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) environments preferred.
- Proficiency with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Dayforce) and ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite).
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling.
- Strong understanding of payroll accounting and general ledger integration.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Solid English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of discretion in handling confidential information.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated integrity and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
