Duties and Responsibilities:
- Delegate, control and review work assignments of direct reports
- Plan, supervise, and participate in annual operating and capital budget preparation
- Prepare quarterly reforecasts including financial and cashflow projection
- Prepare month end close reviews, trending reports, volume analysis, normalization analysis
- Follow-up on outstanding issues and monitor audit results
- Prepare monthly capital cashflow projections
- Promote quality and consistency in executive and decision support information Other duties as assigned
Reporting to Finance Manager, this position is responsible for preparing detail analysis of capital acquisitions, budgets, volume reports, contribution margins, physician manpower results, month end close and balance sheet reviews, and net revenue analysis. Finance Team Lead is also responsible for reviewing managed care and other decision support analyses and related information generated by Senior Accountants and Accountants. Finance Team Lead will work as part of team with business development and department/service line directors on formulation of assumptions, market analysis, volume projections, and pro forma/IRR calculations.
Key Responsibilities
- Track labor and expense performance of Tenet entities
- Monitor and analyze performance of Tenet entities and assist Tenet leadership
- Supervise FP&A staff, including the hiring, mentoring and training of the staff
- Prepare and maintain eCATS, eCER, TIBS, budget files, forecasts
Analyze and/or prepare:
capital acquisitions
- budgets and forecasts
- volume reports
- contribution margins
- physician manpower results
- net revenue analysis
- other ad hoc reporting, as assigned
Coordinate with Tenet's revenue cycle services group on patient accounting matters, including posting of payments and adjustments and approval of patient and insurance refunds.
Prepare managed care analytics, payer mix and contract analytics, and assist with contract negotiations
Required:
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Ability to effectively and professionally communicate, both in writing and verbally, with physicians, management, vendors, consultants and other clients
- Strong ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong analytical problem-solving aptitude with creative solutions
- Ability to efficiently organize large amounts of information, manage multiple simultaneous projects and deadlines with attention to detail in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment
- Extensive proficiency with Microsoft Access, Excel and Word
- Capacity to review, identify and implement improvement opportunities where new processes, technologies or efficiencies can be applied
- Comprehensive conceptual problem solving and analytical skills utilizing complex spreadsheets, comparison tools and other evaluation systems as needed
- Strong investigational skills, attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
Required:
- 4-6 years in the Finance, Accounting or Audit field
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; master's degree in Accounting or MBA preferred
Preferred:
- Progressive financial health care or equivalent experience in the areas of general accounting, financial systems, financial statement preparation, operational review and analysis, operating and capital budget development; S2K general ledger experience.
