JOB DESCRIPTION

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Job Brief

An accountant's job involves managing and maintaining financial records, identifying potential areas of opportunity and risk and provide solutions, preparing financial statements, ensuring accuracy, and providing financial advice to help businesses make sound decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Record Keeping:

· Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledgers, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.

· Recording financial transactions and ensuring they are properly classified.

· Performing account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.

Financial Reporting:

· Preparing financial statements, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

· Analyzing financial data to identify trends and potential issues.

· Preparing reports for management and stakeholders.

Tax Compliance:

· Preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.

· Advising on tax planning and strategies.

· Auditing:

· Conducting internal audits to identify weaknesses in financial controls.

· Assisting with external audits.

Financial Analysis and Planning:

· Analyzing financial data to identify areas for improvement and cost savings.

· Developing budgets and forecasts.

· Providing financial advice to management.

Other Duties:

· Working with other departments to ensure accurate financial data.

· Staying up-to-date with accounting standards and regulations.

Skills and Qualifications:

· Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, preferably CPA licensed with 10-year experience in the following areas:

· Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles & practices.

· Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and identify trends.

· Communication Skills: Ability to communicate financial information clearly, & concisely.

· Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve financial issues.

· Software Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheets.
