What you'll do

  • Receive georeferenced aerial photos (Nearmap) from our team and insert into QGIS.

  • Overlay supplied layer templates (contours, hydrology, property boundaries and other datasets – some to be downloaded from ELVIS).

  • Export the prepared maps from QGIS into CAD (DraftSight) format.

  • Return DWG files to our team for mark-ups.

  • Update the drawing based on our mark-ups/templates, including legends and presentation standards.

  • Maintain data integrity and accuracy across all layers.

What you'll bring (essential):

  • Demonstrated experience with QGIS for spatial data management and map production.

  • Proficiency in CAD software (DraftSight, AutoCAD or similar) with ability to work with DWG/DXF files.

  • Understanding of georeferencing, coordinate systems and spatial data formats.

  • Ability to source and use open datasets (e.g. ELVIS LiDAR/contours).

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions/templates.

  • Reliable communication and ability to deliver to deadlines.

Nice to have (preferred but not essential):

  • Experience preparing legends and cartographic layouts.

  • Familiarity with Australian spatial datasets and standards.

  • Background in surveying, civil, environmental or planning industries.
