Web News Observer is looking for a News Writer intern who brings strong English skills, creative flair, and a hunger to learn. This is a hands-on opportunity to write for a fast-paced online newsroom covering Entertainment, K-Pop, Lifestyle and Human Interest — perfect for someone who wants real publishing experience.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Craft clear, engaging news articles and short features for our website on beat topics.

  2. Research trending topics and breaking stories quickly and thoroughly; verify facts and cite sources.

  3. Brainstorm with editors and pitch creative angles that make stories stand out.

  4. Attend virtual interviews and meetings to gather quotes, context and background.

  5. Edit and proofread copy to ensure accuracy, polish and adherence to house style.

  6. Keep current on news and industry trends to produce timely, relevant content.

  7. Support social and marketing efforts by drafting shareable social copy and helping promote published work.

Other requirements

  1. Excellent command of English with strong creative-writing ability.

  2. Curious, deadline-driven, and able to work both independently and in a small team.

  3. Familiarity with social media, basic SEO, and multimedia (images, embeds) is a plus.

  4. Prior writing or editorial experience (college paper, blog, fan-site, newsletter) welcomed but not required.
