Job Summary:
To ensure company's business compliance, advise company on legal matters, and manage company's legal needs.
Job Responsibilities:
- CONTRACTS: Read, review, draft, negotiate, and solidify legal paperwork and documentation that protect and support the company's interests while adhering to national, regulatory, and compliance laws
- RESEARCH: Undertake and perform in-depth legal research for any activities or transactions- local and regional including but not limited to- taxation, banking laws, real estate, technology, personnel, financial structures, corporate structures
- ADVISE: Guide the management team on operational or business decisions to ensure adherence to legal limits and business strategy.
- COMPLIANCE: Ensure regulatory compliance of the company with other relevant regulations, and statutes. Must update and inform the company of national and local regulations impacting the business.
- REPRESENT: Represent the Company in discussions, interactions, negotiations with third parties as needed (e.g., government agencies/units, investors, partners) and/or represent the company in legal proceedings as needed
- GOVERNANCE: Assist and support management in developing frameworks for managing their company and its operations, such as in creating bylaws and policies, providing legal guidance to directors, board members and chief executives.
- COORDINATION: Coordinate, liaise, collaborate with other lawyers/ law firms serving the company to accomplish common goals
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor
- Must be a member of the Philippine Bar
- With at least 2 years of experience in legal practice, preferably in tax and corporate law
- In-depth knowledge of real estate laws and regulations, as well as technology regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and socialization skills
- Must have business acumen - can balance legal strategy with business strategy
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, time management, and organizational skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of corporate law (some knowledge of laws in the region not required but a plus)
