Infrastructure Engineer

Summary:

Kayana is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud/ Infrastructure Engineer with significant hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, high-performance, and cost-efficient cloud-native solutions across the organization. The role is critical in shaping Kayana's digital ecosystem that integrate systems, productize data/services, and streamline processes across various entities within and outside the organization. As a cloud engineer, you will collaborate closely with business, product, and engineering teams to translate objectives into end-to-end delivery of cloud-native solutions and ensure it meets performance, security, and compliance requirements. This role plays a pivotal part in Kayana's integration journey by delivering high-impact cloud-native solutions that drive exceptional products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and own organization's cloud architectures across PaaS, SaaS models and various API- and data-driven technology stack, defining cloud-native patterns
• Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of cloud solutions within organization's platforms
• Implementation of IaC (Infrastructure-as-Code) using tools like Terraform/CF, standardizing reusable modules and enforcing best practices
• Integrate cloud infrastructure with various DevOps tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
• Define performance metrics and implement monitoring solutions from Infra layer all the way up to Application/Product layer
• Ensure secure configurations, encryptions, access management, and compliance regulations whilst also performing regular security reviews and audits
• Support compliance audits by providing logs, documentation, and architecture
• Maintain and optimize cloud environments and implement autoscaling, serverless, and managed services to improve efficiency and reduce operational overhead
• Contribute to organization's monetization initiatives via AWS analytics, dashboards, logs, tags
• Collaborate with application owners, data architects, security teams, governance teams, business stakeholders, and partner vendors to ensure solution meet both functional and non-functional requirements
• Establish observability practices and tools for tracking, logging, auditing, and improving platform reliability and performance
• Provide subject matter expertise during changes, incidents, root cause analysis related to failures and performance issues
• Keep updated of emerging cloud technologies and tools, evaluating and implementing them where they can deliver advantage
• Identify opportunities for harnessing/innovation in cloud platform / infrastructure and automation

Qualifications:

Experience

• 3-8+ years of experience in Cloud engineering, DevOps, architecture, and/or infrastructure roles
• Proven and validated experience in designing, building, and managing cloud-native solutions and cloud architectures (AWS primarily)
• Background in enterprise-grade systems and automation at scale
• Multiple cross-functional team collaboration in varying size and cloud maturity
• Prior experience in a cloud engineering capacity
• Start-up experience is a plus

Skills and Competencies

Essential

• Expertise in design, implementation, maintenance, and support of organization-wide cloud platform (AWS)
• Familiarity with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments is a plus
• Knowledge on various cloud platforms (Azure, GCP)
• Proficiency in Terraform and CloudFormation
• Skilled in CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions and Jenkins
• Strong scripting abilities in Python, Bash, PowerShell
• Familiarity with CloudWatch, Prometheus and similar tools for monitoring and logging
• Knowledge on IAM, encryption, network security, and compliance standards
• Cost and resource utilization and optimization of cloud solutions
• Knowledgeable and have experience in being part of a Cloud Capability Maturity journey
• Skilled in diagnosing cloud platform issues across complex systems and environments
• Ability to align cloud initiatives with enterprise architecture and long-term organization goals
• Strong written and verbal communication to business proponents around design and implementation of cloud solutions
• Management of multiple, federated cloud engineering teams
• Encourage innovation and continuous improvement in cloud delivery

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field

• Other relevant certifications in cloud, DevOps, integration, data, or security are a plus (i.e., Terraform, Kubernetes, GCP/Azure)
