Job Description: BookkeeperPosition Summary

The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting tasks, and ensuring the company's financial data is organized and up to date. This role supports the Finance/Accounting Department in preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record daily financial transactions in accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
  • Maintain and balance general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare and issue invoices; record receipts and payments.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are properly documented.
  • Assist in payroll preparation (if applicable).
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Maintain organized financial files and documentation.
  • Assist with tax filings and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors when needed.
  • Support the Finance team with other administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred but not always required).
  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and government compliance.
  • Proficient in accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
