Role Overview
As an Instructional Design Specialist for the Learning Experience Design & Development, you will lead a team in developing engaging learning materials and courses. You will drive the team's efforts, applying instructional design expertise and overseeing the development of high-quality educational content.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of Instructional Design Analysts, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and capabilities, resulting in a high-performing team that consistently delivers effective learning experiences.
- Content Creation Management: Manage the creation of learner-centered content and courses, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and quality standards, to produce impactful learning materials that meet business needs and enhance employee performance.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders to identify learning needs and work with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive instructional materials, resulting in tailored learning solutions that address specific organizational challenges and goals.
- Instructional Design Implementation: Apply various instructional design models and methodologies, overseeing the creation of interactive and engaging learning experiences, to ensure the development of effective training programs that maximize knowledge transfer and skill acquisition.
- Multimedia Integration: Implement multimedia elements, interactive activities, and assessments in learning materials to maximize learner engagement and knowledge retention, resulting in improved learning outcomes and increased application of skills in the workplace.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor the instructional design process, ensuring quality and facilitating continuous improvement, to maintain high standards of instructional materials and adapt to evolving learning needs and technologies.

Skills
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze learner data, diagnose learning challenges and apply innovative solutions effectively.
- Project Management Skills: Proficiency in managing multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, including resource allocation, timeline management, and stakeholder communication.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication for effective engagement with stakeholders.
- Instructional Design Expertise: In-depth knowledge of various instructional design models, learning theories, and adult learning principles to create effective learning experiences.
- Curriculum Development Skills: Ability to design and develop comprehensive curricula that align with organizational goals and learner needs.
- Evaluation and Assessment Skills: Proficiency in creating and implementing effective assessment strategies to measure learning outcomes and training effectiveness.
- Creativity and Innovation: Ability to generate novel ideas and approaches to instructional design challenges, keeping learning materials engaging and up-to-date.
- Research Skills: Ability to stay current with the latest instructional design trends, technologies, and best practices, applying relevant findings to improve learning outcomes.
- Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge in relevant learning management systems and e-learning authoring tools and technologies to enhance learner engagement and training effectiveness.

Relevant Experience Required
- At least 2 years of proven experience in instructional design, e-Learning development, or a related field
- Strong portfolio demonstrating successful instructional design projects
- Familiarity with current educational technologies and learning management systems
Educational And Certification Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Certification in instructional design or e-learning development (e.g., CPLP) is advantageous
Direct Reports and Span of Control
This role will be responsible for 5 Instructional Design Analysts and 1 Learning Experience Admin Analyst with plans to expand the span of control in the future.
