The Junior Accountant provides essential support to the finance and accounting team by assisting in the preparation of schedules and reports, encoding all expenses and sales transactions into the QuickNet accounting system, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role updates aging reports, tracks inventory movement, and ensures proper documentation of receipts, invoices, and BIR forms. The Junior Accountant also maintains updated master lists for customers, suppliers, and items, ensuring that data is accurate and ready for reporting and compliance purposes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Encode and tag all expenses and sales in QuickNet with proper account classification.
  • Maintain and update Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) aging schedules.
  • Assist in preparing monthly accrual schedules (e.g., utilities, rent) and journal entries for monthly amortizations (e.g., prepaid rent).
  • Monitor and record inventory movements, ensuring accuracy in counts and valuation.
  • Track and prepare utilities, rent, and administrative expense breakdowns.
  • Maintain accurate records of accrued expenses and prepayments.
  • Prepare VAT and percentage tax schedules for submission.
  • Organize and maintain documentation to ensure clear audit trails for all transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial schedules and reports.
  • Update and manage master lists for customers, suppliers, and items.

REQUIREMENTS:

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's Degreein Accounting, Finance, or a related field. (required)

Ongoing studies or certifications (e.g, CPA) may be a plus.

Work Experience

Entry level position (0-2 years experience) Internship or Part-time accounting work is a strong advantage

Technical Skills

Knowledge of basic accounting principles (e.g, GAAP or IFRS)

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g, formulas, pivot tables)

Experience with accounting software such as: Quickbooks, SAP, Xero

Familiarity with financial reports, reconciliations and general ledger.
