Job Summary

The Insurance Head will be responsible for overseeing and managing all insurance-related activities of the company. This includes securing, negotiating, and administering insurance policies that protect the company's assets, operations, and employees. The role ensures that the company is compliant with legal requirements, minimizes risk exposure, and maximizes insurance coverage at optimal cost.

Key Responsibilities:

Insurance Management & Strategy

  • Develop, implement, and manage the company's insurance program covering motor fleet, cargo, property, liability, and employee-related insurance.
  • Review and assess insurance needs of the business, ensuring adequate coverage for current and future operations.
  • Negotiate terms, premiums, and coverage with insurance providers and brokers

Claims Administration

  • Oversee and manage the full claims process, from incident reporting to settlement.
  • Coordinate with operations, drivers, clients, and insurers to ensure timely and accurate claims documentation.
  • Monitor claim trends and recommend corrective actions to reduce losses.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with logistics operations (e.g., accidents, cargo damage, theft, natural disasters).
  • Ensure compliance with insurance laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Advise management on risk exposures and recommend improvements to safety and loss-prevention programs.

Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary liaison with insurance companies, brokers, adjusters, and legal counsel.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on insurance policies, claims procedures, and risk management best practices.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare periodic reports on insurance coverage, claims status, and risk exposure for senior management.
  • Analyze loss data, insurance utilization, and cost-effectiveness of policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7–10 years' experience in insurance, risk management, or related roles; at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics operations and insurance coverage for transport, cargo, and fleet management.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Certification in Risk Management or Insurance (preferred).
