We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and organized individual to join our underwriting team in a general insurance agency. The underwriting staff will be responsible for assessing risk, evaluating insurance applications, determining coverage terms, and ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines across multiple lines of general insurance (e.g., auto, property, liability, commercial).
Key Responsibilities:- Review and evaluate insurance applications and related documents.
- Assess risk exposure and determine appropriate premium rates and coverage terms.
- Approve, decline, or recommend modifications on submissions according to underwriting guidelines.
- Communicate with agents, brokers, and clients to gather missing information or clarify details.
- Maintain accurate underwriting documentation and records in the system.
- Collaborate with the sales and claims teams to ensure a smooth client experience.
- Assist in developing and updating underwriting policies and procedures.
- Monitor portfolio performance and identify trends or risk issues.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal company policies
