We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Global Accountant (Global Compliance and Reporting) to join our fast-growing team in the Asia-Pacific region. This role is pivotal in ensuring the company adheres to local and international regulations across all jurisdictions. Your responsibilities include managing compliance and reporting processes, providing financial and tax reporting support, and supporting auditors by performing quality checks, which ultimately helps reduce noncompliance risk and costs. You will work closely with internal finance and payroll as well as external auditors, consultants, and clients to maintain financial transparency and compliance with local tax and accounting standards worldwide.
Please note that this position is currently remote but will transition to an in-office role. Day and Night shifts are available, depending on the team. As the company moves to an in-office environment, the office will be located in Makati.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reconciliation & Compliance
- Manage accounting operations and reconciliations across multiple entities and currencies.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Support intercompany transactions, eliminations, and consolidation reporting.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and local GAAP across all supported regions.
Compliance & Statutory Reporting
- Ensure timely submission of statutory financial reports, tax filings, and other compliance deliverables in each jurisdiction.
- Collaborate with local partners and external accountants for statutory audits, corporate tax filings, and regulatory submissions.
- Maintain awareness of updates in local tax laws and accounting regulations in assigned markets (Canada, China, the Philippines, Malaysia).
- Support the development and implementation of internal controls and compliance frameworks.
Problem-Solving & Client Support
- Act as Level 2 support for escalated payroll accounting issues, analyzing and resolving client inquiries related to financial discrepancies, tax calculations, or reporting errors.
- Provide clients with actionable insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to improve payroll accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain detailed client-specific accounting notes, ensuring all reconciliations, adjustments, and resolutions are well-documented for transparency and continuity.
- Collaborate with Payroll and HR teams to reconcile payroll journals, statutory contributions, and benefits.
Process Improvement & Internal/ External Collaboration
- Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., payroll, finance, and compliance) to streamline accounting processes, reduce errors, and enhance financial reporting efficiency.
- Contribute to the development of internal tools, templates, and best practices for payroll reconciliation and financial audits.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in payroll accounting and compliance, offering guidance to internal teams and clients on complex financial matters.
Qualifications
- Proficient in both spoken and written English, with excellent communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is strongly preferred;
- relevant certifications (e.g., CPA/CA/ACCA qualification, payroll compliance) are a plus.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally within a multi-country or regional compliance environment,full-cycle accounting or payroll accounting analysis, preferably in a public accounting firm, payroll provider, or employer of record setting.
- Strong understanding of IFRS, local GAAP, and corporate tax regulations (experience in Canada, China, Malaysia, or the Philippines is an advantage).
- Proven track record in managing multi-currency reconciliations and cross-border consolidations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with demonstrated ability to build working papers, perform detailed reconciliations, and analyze intricate payroll-related datasets using formulas, VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and other analytical tools.
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, with a strong ability to spot errors and inconsistencies.
- High degree of responsibility and the ability to work efficiently under pressure, adapting quickly in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Pay: Php60, Php80,000.00 per month
