They are responsible for specific cooking stations, executing recipes accurately, and presenting visually appealing dishes while working in a fast-paced environment. Food Preparation & Cooking

  • Prepping Ingredients: Wash, chop, slice, dice, and measure food items like vegetables and meat according to recipes and established standards.
  • Cooking to Order: Prepare and cook menu items on their assigned station (e.g., grill, fry, sauté) to ensure they are cooked to the correct temperature and consistency.
  • Sauce & Component Preparation: Prepare sauces, dressings, and other components for dishes following exact recipe instructions.
  • Plating & Garnishing: Assemble and plate dishes, applying garnishes for a visually appealing presentation.

Station & Kitchen Maintenance

  • Station Setup: Set up and stock their assigned cooking station with all necessary ingredients, utensils, and supplies before each shift.
  • Cleanliness & Sanitation: Keep their workstation and the surrounding kitchen area clean, sanitized, and organized, adhering to food safety standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Use and maintain kitchen equipment and utensils properly.
  • Dishwashing: Assist with washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.

Inventory & Stocking

  • Inventory Management: Perform inventory checks, track ingredient levels, and report shortages of supplies.
  • Restocking: Restock items on their station and in storage areas throughout the shift to ensure continuous service.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff and front-of-house personnel to ensure smooth communication and timely delivery of orders.
  • Assisting Others: Provide assistance to other cooks and kitchen staff as needed.
  • Following Instructions: Execute instructions from the chef and sous chef to meet culinary goals and standards.

Food Safety & Quality Control

  • Hygiene Standards: Follow and enforce strict food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in all tasks.
  • Food Storage: Ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of all food items.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor the quality, taste, and presentation of dishes, making adjustments as necessary.
