Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst – Core Capabilities (Associate Vice President) to join the Financial Accounting Tribe under COO Finance. This role sits at the intersection of finance, accounting, IT, and banking operations, offering a unique opportunity to work on complex, end-to-end processes that directly impact the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of financial reporting.

As a Business Analyst, you will collaborate within a multidisciplinary squad of analysts, engineers, and product owners to translate business needs into effective financial accounting solutions. You will be responsible for analyzing data, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, supporting change initiatives, and bridging business requirements with IT solutions.

This role offers multiple career pathways, enabling you to develop as a specialist in accounting and finance systems or evolve into a generalist leader with managerial responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities
Analysis & Requirements Gathering
  • Translate business needs into finance user requirements and stakeholder requirements.
  • Support the Product Owner in managing the backlog by breaking down epics into features and user stories.
  • Conduct data analysis to assess input, output, and adjustment requirements for end-user processes.
  • Investigate data quality issues and propose solutions to enhance data integrity.
Accounting & Compliance
  • Implement and maintain controls aligned with minimum accounting standards.
  • Support compliance with regulatory and tax requirements, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Perform second-line functional support including daily End-of-Day (EOD) checks on timeliness, correctness, completeness, reconciliations, and ledger reporting.
Change & Transformation
  • Partner with IT to translate solution designs into technical implementations.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives and transformation projects, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Execute functional, acceptance, and migration testing for new releases and process enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation across accounting and finance systems.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across business, finance, and IT functions.
  • Communicate effectively to align stakeholders on business requirements, change impact, and solutions.
  • Proactively manage dependencies and provide transparent updates on progress and risks.

Qualifications & Experience
Education
  • Master's degree in Accounting & Control, Business IT, Accountancy, or Business Economics (or equivalent).
  • Strong academic track record is considered an advantage.
Technical & Functional Skills
  • Solid understanding of accounting concepts and product accounting.
  • Basic knowledge of IFRS; advanced understanding is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify patterns and translate them into logical solutions.
  • Affinity with IT systems, data management, and innovation in finance.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data analysis tools is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology and backlog management.
