As a
Merchant Risk Analyst
, your main responsibility is to support the evaluation and monitoring of risk across our global merchant portfolio. In this role, you will play a vital part in safeguarding our business by conducting in-depth risk assessments, monitoring merchant activity, and identifying potential threats. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining trust, compliance, and performance across our international operations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Conduct in-depth reviews during merchant onboarding to ensure compliance
  • Monitor transaction trends, risk indicators, and merchant performance to identify potential issues
  • Manage account suspensions, closures, and settlements when necessary
  • Respond promptly to merchant risk escalations, compliance concerns, and fraud cases
  • Analyze risk metrics and transaction data, generating reports with actionable insights
  • Improve risk detection models and develop new strategies for fraud prevention
  • Enhance risk monitoring tools and streamline processes to improve accuracy and efficiency
  • Identify workflow gaps and recommend effective risk mitigation strategies
  • Handle high-risk merchants requiring tailored strategies and decision-making
  • Work with cross-functional teams to execute resolutions for complex risk scenarios

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Statistics, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of solid experience in a similar role, preferably in payments working at a PSP and/or Acquirer
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven experience in risk management, compliance, fraud prevention, or a similar role
  • Previous experience in the financial sector (banks, fintech, or payment service providers), with expertise in merchant account monitoring and escalation management
  • Flexibility to work on rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and risk management systems
  • Deep understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks
  • Solid understanding of business models, products, services, types of customers and entities, geographic locations, and the potential risks associated with those activities
  • Good understanding of the payment ecosystem and industry
  • Experience in problem-solving, including the ability to recognize non-obvious patterns and out-of-the-box thinking
  • Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and data security standards
