Responsibilities:

  • Credit underwriting, credit scoring, and fraud and risk mitigation procedures.
  • Fraud detection and assessment of borrower's creditworthiness: review and evaluate the KYC and financial stability of loan applicants by analyzing documents related to income, identity, and credit reports.
  • Familiarization in credit scoring: use internal scoring systems to assess the likelihood of default. Recommends improvement in the scoring algorithm.
  • Make loan approval decisions by considering all risk factors versus the benefit of granting a loan.
  • Escalate high-risk applications: For applicants that fall outside of standard risk criteria or require higher-risk assessments.
  • Team Supervision: Lead and mentor a team of 30+ credit personnel, ensuring they follow proper procedures and guidelines in evaluating loan applications. Provide ongoing training to team members to elevate production, cross-team collaboration and to be updated in the latest industry trends and regulatory changes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations: ensure that all loan procedures are made in compliance with rules and regulations such as truth and fair lending, anti-money laundering (AML), and data privacy.
  • Do loan quality audits to ensure the credit risk assessment meets standards and for overall improvement.
  • Review and update policies: regularly review and update the credit risk policies and procedures to reflect changes in the market, regulatory environment, and organizational strategy.
  • Generate reports: Create regular reports for the section and upper management regarding KPI and overall portfolio performance.
  • Work closely with other teams in the organization to ensure meeting of operational needs.
  • Manage and oversee the process/systems related to acceptance of loan, loan processing, loan disbursements, and data management.

Requirements:

  • Experience in supervision of credit personnel for at least 3 years.
  • 3 years of experience in credit risk management, loan underwriting, and financial analysis.
  • Experience in lending operations in a bank, financial technology end-to-end solutions and credit scoring is a plus.
