General Responsibilities

Under the general supervision of the Science Coordinator/s, the Science Laboratory Custodian assists and implements the Science Program of the different department; coordinates with the Faculty regarding the use of the science laboratory room; perform technical duties in the operation and maintenance of the science laboratory; provides technical and instructional support to faculty and students regarding the use of the science laboratory.

Specific Responsibilities

  1. Supervises the upkeep of the laboratory room, equipment, and apparatuses.

  2. Prepares the necessary materials, apparatuses, equipment, and chemicals needed in the laboratory.

  3. Schedules the use of the laboratory.

  4. Updates inventories of all laboratory equipment and apparatuses.

  5. Makes requisitions for reagents, repairs/replacement of laboratory apparatus.

  6. Makes requisitions for materials, chemicals, apparatus, and equipment recommended by the Science Coordinator/s and Science teachers.

  7. Conducts laboratory orientation to students and teachers on the proper use of all laboratory and its facilities.

  8. Assists students and teachers in their laboratory activities.

  9. Receives, checks, and cleans apparatuses, equipment or materials after laboratory period.

  10. Assists students in the conduct of scheduled special laboratory experiments.

  11. Submits year-end report.

  12. Perform other related tasks as may be requested by the Principal and Science Coordinator/s.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  • Roman Catholic
  • Has completed a Bachelor's Degree with a major related to Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Science & Technology or equivalent)
  • Has acquired relevant work experience in an educational setting
  • Possesses knowledge of calibration and maintenance of technical laboratory equipment
  • Possesses knowledge of curating and maintenance of botanical, zoological and microbial collections; as well as the ability to perform routine and analytical work needed to prepare reagents and solutions
  • Has knowledge of the environmental health and safety regulations necessary to properly use and dispose chemicals, biohazardous materials and laboratory equipment; ability to safely handle, store and dispose science laboratory materials
  • Is able to work independently
  • Is capable of functional computer skills
  • Has knowledge of the principles of record keeping.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php18,127.00 per month
