Job Description:

We're looking for a Senior WordPress Developer with strong PHP expertise and proven experience in building custom WordPress websites, plugins, and integrations.

This role goes far beyond page-building — you'll be expected to architect, optimise, and deliver high-performing sites that align with best practices in scalability, speed, and security. Experience with and is a strong advantage, as some projects involve headless WordPress or modern JavaScript integrations.

You'll collaborate closely with project managers, designers, and developers, taking technical ownership of builds and providing mentorship to the junior dev team when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, customise, and maintain WordPress websites, themes, and plugins using clean, scalable PHP code.
• Translate visual and UX concepts into robust, responsive, and high-performing websites.
• Implement modern front-end integrations where applicable (including or ).
• Optimise websites for speed, SEO, and performance, ensuring stability across devices and browsers.
• Conduct thorough QA testing, debugging, and peer code reviews.
• Manage Git-based version control and deployment workflows.
• Stay up to date with evolving technologies and frameworks relevant to WordPress development.
• Collaborate with and guide junior developers to uphold high technical standards.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of professional experience as a WordPress/PHP Developer (preferably in an agency setting).
• Deep experience in custom theme and plugin development — strong PHP foundation is essential.
• Advanced knowledge of WordPress core, hooks, filters, and REST API.
• Proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and AJAX.
• Familiarity with Elementor (and similar visual builders) — particularly for:

-- Building modular and reusable components for efficiency, and

-- Integrating custom functionality and code-level customisation beyond default builder limits.

(We're looking for someone who understands Elementor as a professional tool in a larger workflow — not someone limited to using it.)

• Solid understanding of MySQL, database optimisation, and data structure design.
• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Strong eye for UI/UX, attention to detail, and performance optimisation.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred / Bonus Skills:

• Experience with , , or
• Familiarity with headless WordPress setups and decoupled front-end architectures.
• Server-side optimisation, CDN configuration, and hosting management knowledge.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Open-source contributions or participation in developer communities.
