Job Summary

The Systems Manager supports the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of ALH's commercial systems covering platforms that drive reservations, distribution, marketing, and guest engagement.

Working closely with the Director of Systems, this role ensures that commercial technologies perform reliably, integrate smoothly, and are fully utilized by teams across the organization. The Systems Manager oversees daily system upkeep, coordinates with vendors and IT teams, and collaborates with property and commercial users to address issues, deploy new features, and support successful implementation of group-wide initiatives.

The role combines technical competence with strong coordination and communication skills—acting as the link between business users, technology partners, and corporate leadership.

Duties & Responsibilities

System Administration & Upkeep

  • Oversee the day-to-day maintenance, configuration, and monitoring of key commercial systems (e.g., PMS, CRS, channel manager, CRM, and marketing platforms).
  • Ensure system stability, data integrity, and uptime across all properties.
  • Manage system access rights, user profiles, and security settings in coordination with IT.
  • Track and resolve system issues or bugs, escalating as needed to vendors or the Director of Systems.

Implementation & Integration Support

  • Support system rollouts, upgrades, and integrations across the commercial technology stack.
  • Coordinate with property and department leads during implementation to ensure smooth onboarding, testing, and handover.
  • Document system processes, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in pilot programs and system evaluations, providing operational feedback and recommendations.

Collaboration & Training

  • Serve as a point of contact for commercial, marketing, and reservations teams on system-related inquiries or support.
  • Provide basic user training, refreshers, and guidance to ensure teams fully understand system functions and best practices.
  • Work closely with the Director of Systems, IT, and vendor partners to align technical changes with business needs.
  • Promote consistent usage of systems across all properties and departments.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track system performance metrics (uptime, usage rates, error logs) and prepare reports for review by the Director of Systems.
  • Identify areas for improvement in system efficiency, workflow integration, or user adoption.
  • Support audits to ensure compliance with internal standards, data policies, and external requirements.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Stay informed of new system features, updates, and best practices in hospitality technology.
  • Recommend enhancements or automation opportunities that improve user experience or operational productivity.
  • Contribute feedback to refine group-wide system roadmaps and technology priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or Hospitality Management (or related field).
  • 5+ years of experience managing or supporting commercial systems within hospitality or a related industry.
  • Strong understanding of hospitality platforms such as PMS, CRS, channel managers, CRM, and marketing systems.
  • Hands-on experience in system configuration, troubleshooting, and user support.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Collaborative, service-oriented, and able to work effectively with both corporate and property teams.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and emerging technologies.
