Key Responsibilities:

Employee Relations:

  • Act as the first point of contact for employees and management regarding workplace conflicts, grievances, and other employee concerns.
  • Investigate employee complaints, conduct interviews, and gather evidence to ensure fair resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and industry regulations to mitigate legal risks.
  • Mediate conflicts between employees and managers, and work to resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide guidance to management on best practices in maintaining a positive work environment and handling employee relations matters.
  • HR Policies and Procedures:
  • Assist in developing, updating, and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Communicate and enforce policies across retail locations to ensure consistency.
  • Provide training to staff on company policies, employee rights, and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Performance Management:
  • Support the performance review process by helping managers set goals, monitor progress, and provide feedback.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of employee improvement plans when necessary.
  • Offer coaching and counseling to employees and managers regarding performance-related issues.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding:
  • Participate in the recruitment process, from job postings and interviewing to selection and onboarding of new hires.
  • Ensure that new employees understand company policies and are integrated smoothly into their roles.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws, particularly those related to employee relations in the retail industry (e.g., wage and hour laws, employee rights, discrimination, and harassment laws).
  • Prepare reports and track employee relations metrics, such as turnover rates, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
  • Training and Development:
  • Assist in identifying training needs and organizing employee development programs to enhance skills and performance.
  • Conduct training sessions on workplace ethics, communication, conflict resolution, and company policies.
  • Benefits and Compensation:
  • Address employee inquiries regarding benefits, compensation, and HR policies.
  • Collaborate with the payroll and benefits teams to ensure accuracy in employee compensation.
