Job Description

As a Human Resource Specialist, you will support and administer core HR functions with a strong focus on systems, compliance, and process excellence. You'll partner closely with leadership to maintain accurate HR operations, enhance workflows, and deliver a consistent, positive employee experience across the organization.

The Qualifications We Seek

Education Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration (with HR focus), Communications, Marketing, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 1 year of human resources experience
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements

  • Background check including criminal record history conducted prior to hire
  • Preferred certifications: Associate Professional in Human Resources (aPHR) or SHRM-CP

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong technical proficiency with HRIS platforms such as Paylocity, TBX, carrier portals, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and improve HR system workflows, reporting, and integrations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational, scheduling, and project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively while working independently
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately

Travel and Work Requirements

  • Ability to travel periodically as needed
  • Willingness to work outside normal work hours when required

Your Daily Tasks

  • Administer and maintain HR systems including Paylocity, carrier platforms, and TBX, ensuring data accuracy and compliance
  • Serve as primary system administrator for Paylocity, managing workflows, audits, reporting, and enhancements
  • Coordinate employee benefits enrollments, changes, and inquiries while liaising with benefit vendors
  • Oversee leaves of absence in partnership with third-party vendors, ensuring policy and legal compliance
  • Maintain and update job descriptions aligned with organizational and compliance standards
  • Support learning and development initiatives, onboarding sessions, and employee training programs
  • Compile and analyze HR data for reporting, audits, and process improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with Payroll and Finance on HR data validation and system integrations
  • Provide backup support for HR onboarding and regional HR functions as needed
  • Assist with sensitive employee relations matters while maintaining confidentiality
  • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency through improved HR systems and workflows
