Responsibilities:

Customer Focus – Effective internal colleague relationships established and maintained with a high level of communication and understanding

1. Operations – High quality drawings for allocated Structural Engineering projects
2. Finance – Managing the costs of drawing production
3. Personal Development – Continual Professional Development

Qualification and requirements:

• Technical or associate degree in Drafting or Civil Engineering preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.

Relevant Experience

• Minimum 5 years drafting experience gained within a consultancy environment.
• Strong project management skills.
• Demonstrated experience in structural drawing of relevant projects including (desirable):

− Commercial / Industrial

− Tilt panel constructions

− Multi storey apartments

− Marine / Resource Construction

− Setting out of concrete slab and steel plans / layouts

• Competent in the use of: AutoCAD, Microstation, working knowledge of REVIT Structural, Microsoft Office, Australian/UK Standards, Local Government Design Manuals.

Other Skills

• Understanding of relevant Australian/UK standards, State and local Government policies and guidelines.
• Knowledge and application of Structural engineering codes, construction standards, specs, procedures and construction techniques.
• Ability to comply with van der Meer Drafting Standards.
• Time Management skills

Non-negotiable skills & requirements:

The applicant must have:

• Strong English communication
• Min. 7 years Australian/UK drafting experience using Australian/UK standards
• Min. 7 years Revit experience using BIM 360, RTV, Aconex etc. (understanding of Dynamo is an advantage, but not essential)

Previous experience in:

• Concrete framed buildings, wall elevations, concrete details
• Reinforcing plans and details
• Precast elevations and details
• Steel framing and detailing
• Retention plans, elevations and details
