Key duties include prepping ingredients by chopping or slicing, cooking dishes according to recipes, plating food, and ensuring all food safety and sanitation standards are met. Core duties and responsibilities

  • Food preparation: Set up stations, chop, slice, dice, and measure ingredients, prepare sauces, and stock supplies.
  • Cooking: Cook menu items using various methods like grilling, frying, or sautéing, ensuring they meet quality standards and recipe instructions.
  • Plating and presentation: Assemble and plate dishes according to the restaurant's standards before they are served.
  • Cleanliness and sanitation: Maintain a clean and sanitized work station, clean equipment, and follow all food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Inventory and stocking: Check inventory, complete storage logs, and restock necessary supplies and ingredients at the station.
  • Teamwork and communication: Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service, and assist others as needed.
  • Quality control: Ensure all food is cooked to the correct temperature and quality and that portion control is maintained.
