
Derivatives Operation Analyst

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Derivatives Operation Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the daily static data maintenance, pricing and workflow monitoring of the derivatives platform. This role is critical in maintaining operational efficiency and compliance with regulatory standards.

Position Responsibilities:
The Derivatives Operations Analyst is responsible for various static data maintenance supporting the Global Derivative Services model:
- Provide daily operations support through static data maintenance of the derivatives platform through (but not limited to):
Portfolio / Business Unit Setup
Standard Settlement Instruction Setup
Holding Instrument Setup / Currency Pair Setup
Holiday Calendar Setup
- Perform end-of-day pricing for all derivative products, execute curve review and implementation for accurate system valuation calculation
- Perform varying levels of reconciliation and investigation from trade level, position, user access, price variance, etc. in accordance with internal standards where issues are escalated/resolved on a timely manner
- Generate required reports daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly as deemed by the business supported
- Troubleshoots and investigates failed workflow of the derivatives platform, and provides resolution and/or escalate issues according to internal stakeholders such as IT, MO and management
- Work within existing procedures and processes ensuring clear and concise documentation is created and maintained as such procedures and processes evolve over time
- Exercise initiative to assist department management in review and analysis of established procedures and processes, making recommendations
Aid in the successful delivery of compliance, audit, and regulatory facilitated requirements.
Assists in testing process improvements and projects involving Derivative Operations functions.
- Process internal ad hoc requests from various groups in a timely and efficient manner.
- Propose improvements to current processes that will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the group.
- Contribute to the capacity and depth of Global Derivatives Services to respond to the organization's current and future derivative demands.
Required Qualifications:
- College / University graduate (preferably Math, Business, Finance or related fields) with minimum 2 to 3 years' work experience in Banking, Finance and/or Investments field
- Operational experience in functions related to Investments / Market Operations such as reconciliations, settlements, static data maintenance
- Basic knowledge of financial markets and the language and terminology used in Investment Management
- Hybrid Work Arrangement: Amenability and readiness to work onsite and from home anytime (dependent on business need AND/OR current external environment/situation) and must be willing to work on a mid-shift schedule
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge and exposure to derivative products such as Swaps, FX, Options, Futures and Forwards
- Knowledge and understanding of trade life cycle and varying levels of reconciliation
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, intermediate to advanced knowledge in MS Office macros is a plus
- Highly trainable and ability to work independently with minimal guidance and supervision.
- Solid organizational skills and a high degree of professionalism combined with the ability to readily adapt to rapidly changing environments and deal with competing priorities, while maintaining accuracy and thoroughness
- Demonstrated ability to work in an environment where procedures and controls are required
- High level of accuracy, and ability to analyze complex trade data and identify discrepancies.
- Proactively identify/escalate issues and develop solutions.
- Excellent English skills, both oral and written, with strong comprehension skills to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders
- Demonstrate initiative and team player
- CISI certifications, CPA/CFA designation is an advantage.
- VBA, PowerBI, PowerApps experience an advantage
- Knowledge of basic programming language/SQL and/or natural curiosity/affinity to system workflows and interdependence will be an advantage
- Knowledge in Bloomberg is an advantage
