Job Description:

The Product Engineer designs, develops, and tests lighting systems and components, ensuring they're innovative, energy-efficient, and production-ready. This role bridges research and development, product development, and product management, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance LED solutions from concept to launch.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Translate market needs and R&D insights into technical specifications and CAD models (AutoCAD)
  • Engineer complete LED systems—optical, thermal, mechanical, and electronic—optimized for efficiency, durability, and ease of manufacture.
  • Build and validate prototypes using photometric measurements, thermal analysis, and electrical testing
  • Iterate designs based on empirical data to meet performance and safety benchmarks.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers to design scalable processes for mass production.
  • Actively resolve production issues and implement continuous quality and cost improvements
  • Ensure all products meet industry standards, through rigorous testing and documentation
  • Maintain technical specifications, BOMs, test plans, and compliance records.
  • Work closely with procurement, marketing, and supply chain teams to align engineering outcomes with commercial goals
  • Coordinate with external vendors and certification bodies for component sourcing and compliance testing.
  • Recommend design optimizations based on customer feedback and field performance.
  • Support product variants, customizations, and upgrades throughout the lifecycle.
  • Report directly to the General Manager on product management, product development and quality control activities.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales and operations teams in Manila and product development engineers in China.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in engineering, product development, or R&D is preferred.
  • Fresh graduates with honors from reputable universities are also considered.
  • Proficient in CAD software.
