Job Summary:

ATHENASIA Consulting is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Accountant to take on a dynamic new role combining in-depth accounting expertise with dedicated client relationship management. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the complete accounting cycle and serving as the primary point of contact for a limited portfolio of 10 to 25 clients (A mix of monthly and yearly accounting). This pivotal role requires a professional with strong technical accounting skills who can provide a full set of accounts on a timely basis, excellent interpersonal abilities, and a passion for providing comprehensive financial guidance and support to our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Client Portfolio Management: Manage and nurture strong relationships with an assigned portfolio of 10-25 clients, serving as their primary point of contact for all accounting and related service needs.
  • Client Communication & Coordination: Communicate regularly with clients to address their financial needs, provide updates on their accounts, and coordinate the collection of necessary documents for accounting, audit, and tax purposes.
  • Full Set Accounting: Handle the full set of accounts for assigned clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly and/or year-end accounting reports, along with reports and schedules for management review and client communication.
  • Accounts Receivable & Payable Management: Coordinate with clients on accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) management, including following up on payments and outstanding matters.
  • Operating Expense Management: Assist clients with the management of their operating expenses.
  • Bank Reconciliation & Accounting Tasks: Perform regular bank reconciliations and other accounting tasks to maintain financial accuracy and integrity.
  • Compliance: Ensure all accounting practices and client reports comply with relevant accounting standards and internal guidelines.
  • Inter-departmental Liaison: Coordinate effectively with the Hong Kong and Philippines accounting, audit, tax, and company secretary teams to ensure seamless service delivery for your client portfolio.
  • Advisory Services: Manage client expectations and provide advisory on accounting matters. Evolve into a consulting role based on expertise to assist with structuring charts of accounts and creating integrations in accounting software like Xero.
  • Audit Assistance: Assist in annual audits for your client portfolio and liaising with auditors and client helping to answer queries.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve accounting and client management processes.
  • Business Development Support: Help collect reviews from your client pool and get referrals.
  • Mentoring: Eventually it is possible you will have mentoring/management opportunity. Leading a junior member.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within an accounting or CPA firm.
  • Proven experience in handling a full set of accounts.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software such as Xero (certification preferred), QuickBooks (certification is a plus), and/or Odoo.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written).
  • Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take ownership of client accounts and relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with DEXT receipt processing software and A2X integration is advantageous.
  • Experience in accounting BPO is a plus.
  • Proficiency in additional languages (Portuguese, Spanish, French) is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Immediate availability is a strong advantage.
