About the role

As an Accountant at Discover Group of Travel Services Inc.', you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and reporting for our travel services business. This full-time position is based in Mandaue Cebu City, Cebu and will involve managing the company's day-to-day financial operations, preparing financial statements, and supporting strategic decision-making.

What you'll be doing

  1. Preparing and analyzing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  2. Ensuring accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions
  3. Quickbooks online intuit quickbooks
  4. Reconciling bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts
  5. Assisting with the preparation of budgets and forecasts
  6. Providing financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions
  7. Ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations
  8. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide financial support and guidance

What we're looking for:

  1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  2. At least 1-2 years of experience in a similar accounting role, preferably within the travel or hospitality industry
  3. A minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role is acceptable
  4. Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and reporting standards
  5. Proficient in using financial software and spreadsheet applications
  6. Proficiency in QuickBooks is required
  7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  9. Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
  10. CPA certification is preferred but not required
