Key Responsibilities

  • Supply Chain Coordination:Develop and manage logistics strategies, processes, and procedures for the efficient flow of goods from suppliers to customers.
  • Inventory Management:Monitor and manage inventory levels, track incoming and outgoing shipments, and ensure materials are stored properly.
  • Transportation Management:Coordinate with vendors and carriers, monitor transportation costs, negotiate shipping rates, and optimize delivery routes.
  • Supplier & Vendor Relations:Maintain relationships with suppliers, carriers, and other stakeholders, ensuring mutual satisfaction and efficient operations.
  • Regulatory Compliance:Ensure all logistical activities comply with relevant local and international regulations, trade agreements, and organizational policies.
  • Problem-Solving:Address and resolve supply chain issues, such as lost or damaged shipments, equipment malfunctions, or bottlenecks.
  • Reporting & Analysis:Monitor performance metrics, prepare budget reports, and provide detailed reports on supply chain performance to management.
  • Safety & Security:Develop and implement procedures to ensure the safe and secure handling of goods and personnel.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Education:A bachelor's or master's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field is often required.
  • Technical Skills:Proficiency in logistics management software, inventory management systems, and other relevant computer applications.
  • Soft Skills:Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential. Interpersonal skills are also crucial for managing relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience:Experience in logistics, supply chain, or a warehouse environment can be advantageous.

Typical Work EnvironmentLogistics Officers can work in various settings within the supply chain, including warehouses, transportation facilities, and corporate offices. They collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure the smooth operation of logistical activities.
