I. Job Summary

The Cadet Industrial Engineer assists in the monitoring, analysis, and improvement of refinery operations to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production. The role supports operational planning, performance monitoring, compliance with quality and safety standards, and continuous improvement initiatives under the guidance of senior engineers and plant management.

II. Job Objectives

  • To support the efficient, safe, and high-quality operation of the refinery in compliance with production targets, quality standards, and company certifications.
  • To assist in optimizing refinery performance through data analysis, process monitoring, and improvement initiatives related to yield, capacity utilization, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • To gain practical experience in supervising operations and supporting workforce development toward achieving operational excellence.

III. Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesA. Primary Tasks

  • Assist in overseeing and monitoring overall oil refining operations to ensure consistency in capacity, quality, yield efficiency, and recovery.
  • Support daily refinery operations monitoring and report deviations in process performance, quality, or safety.
  • Assist in ensuring refinery outputs conform to product quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Support production planning activities aligned with customer quantity and quality requirements.
  • Assist in preparing and monitoring raw material usage, inventory levels, and budget-related data.
  • Coordinate with the Plant Maintenance Department regarding preventive maintenance schedules and basic maintenance planning requirements.
  • Assist in manpower planning by monitoring work assignments, attendance, and productivity of refinery personnel.
  • Support compliance with company standards and certifications, including Food Safety, Organic, and MOSH-MOAH requirements.
  • Assist in ensuring strict implementation of safety rules and refinery operational guidelines.
  • Prepare, consolidate, and submit accurate daily production summary and operational reports.

B. Secondary Tasks

  • Assist the Pollution Control Officer (PCO) in environmental programs, internal audits, documentation, and compliance-related activities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects, process optimization studies, and operational audits.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Plant Manager or immediate supervisor.

IV. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply; relevant internship or plant exposure is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of production planning, process improvement, and quality management systems.
  • Familiarity with food safety, environmental, and safety standards is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Willing to work in a plant/refinery environment and flexible work schedules.
