Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Finance Operations Manager to oversee our accounting operations and maintain the financial integrity of the company. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring accurate reporting, compliance with regulations, and providing strategic financial insights that guide decision-making. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in bookkeeping, financial analysis, and process optimization, along with the leadership skills to manage a finance team effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily bookkeeping activities and maintain precise financial records in QuickBooks.
  • Conduct regular and month-end bank reconciliations to ensure transaction accuracy.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing, supplier payments, and billing.
  • Oversee credit control functions and liaise with factoring companies to ensure steady cash flow.
  • Prepare and submit VAT and CIS returns in line with compliance requirements.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring to identify variances.
  • Perform detailed cash flow analysis and recommend strategies for improvement.
  • Strengthen internal controls and financial procedures to maintain accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
  • Assist with external audits and collaborate with auditors to ensure a smooth process.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor junior finance staff to enhance overall department performance.

Mandatory Skills

  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and accounting systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Solid understanding of accounting standards, financial reporting, and compliance.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and financial data interpretation.
  • Clear communication and collaboration skills across departments.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Accounting certification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience managing VAT and CIS submissions.
  • Background in audit support, credit control, and budgeting.
  • Experience leading or mentoring finance staff.
  • Exposure to construction or service-based industries.
