About Us

Contempo Design is a bespoke, multi-disciplinary building design practice based in Australia. We specialise in creating innovative, human-focused residential spaces ranging from single-storey homes to large-scale multi-storey luxury residences. We're seeking an experienced Senior Architect / Building Designer to join our team remotely and contribute to the delivery of high-quality, creative, and practical design solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and produce residential concept designs across a range of project scales.
  • Interpret and translate written client briefs into innovative design outcomes.
  • Ensure designs comply with estate design guidelines and Residential Design Codes.
  • Collaborate with the principal architect, contributing creativity while working within project requirements and directives.
  • Balance artistic expression with practical, code-compliant solutions.
  • Deliver work within deadlines, including short turnaround times when required.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 4–5 years of proven architectural or building design experience.
  • Proficiency in ArchiCAD (mandatory).
  • Strong communication skills with fluent English.
  • Natural passion for design and creative flair.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an organised and methodical approach.
  • Effective time management and ability to work under pressure.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and collaborative mindset.
  • Receptive to feedback and able to work under guidance without ego.
  • Prior experience working in Australia (not essential but highly valued).
