About the Role

We are looking for a 
senior-level PHP developer
 who is ready to take on a 
technical leadership
 role in a long-term, business-critical modernization project.

You'll lead and guide the technical direction of a large platform currently built in 
PHP/Joomla
, while helping shape its gradual transition into a 
modern .NET-based microservices architecture
.

This is not a managerial role — you will mostly work hands-on with code, provide structure for the team, keep delivery aligned, and act as the technical anchor of the project.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership

  • Lead the daily technical execution of the platform.
  • Coordinate with developers to keep delivery structured, clear, and on track.
  • Ensure proper Git workflows, code reviews, technical clarity, and quality.
  • Communicate proactively with international stakeholders.

PHP / Web Development (Core Focus)

  • Work extensively with 
    PHP
    , 
    Joomla
    , 
    HTML5
    , 
    CSS
    , 
    JavaScript
    .
  • Modernize outdated code, refactor modules, and improve performance.
  • Drive clean architecture and best practices across the codebase.
  • Support the gradual migration of the system into
    microservices
    .

Requirements
Must-Have Technical Skills

  • 7+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong senior-level skills in 
    PHP
     and modern web development.
  • Experience with large codebases and legacy modernization.
  • Solid Git experience (branching, pull requests, conflict resolution).
  • Comfortable working with APIs, backend logic, and structured delivery.

Must-Have Leadership Skills

  • Strong ownership mindset.
  • Able to keep a team aligned, structured, and productive.
  • Proactive communication and ability to push for clarity.
  • Confident coordinating with international stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Joomla or any PHP CMS.
  • Experience with .NET or willingness to upskill.
  • Experience leading teams, mentoring, or coordinating work.
  • Experience with SaaS or large distributed systems.
