Job Summary:

Civil Engineer – Procurement is responsible for overseeing and managing the purchasing of construction materials, equipment, and services required for projects. This role ensures that all procurement activities meet project specifications, quality standards, budget requirements, and timelines. The Civil Engineer also coordinates with suppliers, contractors, and project teams to ensure smooth operations on site, while continuously sourcing the best and most efficient suppliers to optimize cost and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project plans, specifications, and requirements to identify material and equipment needs.

  • Source, evaluate, and select the best and most efficient suppliers/vendors based on quality, cost, and reliability.

  • Prepare purchase order , evaluate bids, and negotiate terms with suppliers.

  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials, equipment, and services to avoid project delays.
  • Coordinate with the project team to monitor inventory levels and manage material requisitions.
  • Inspect and verify that procured items comply with required specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier databases.
  • Work closely with the finance department for budget monitoring, payment processing, and cost control.
  • Resolve procurement-related issues, discrepancies, or delays with suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements in all procurement activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and technical specifications.
  • Ability to identify efficient suppliers and negotiate the best deals.
  • Good negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office, procurement software, and project management tools.
