Key Responsibilities:

Core Accounting & Month-End Processes

  • Perform accurate and timely bank reconciliations for multi-currency accounts.
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are supported and clean.
  • Conduct trial balance reviews, flagging anomalies and suggesting corrective actions.
  • Support month-end closing with accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.

BAS & Regulatory Reporting (AU/NZ)

  • Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) for Australia and New Zealand.
  • Ensure compliance with ATO and NZ IRD tax obligations, including GST, PAYG, and other statutory filings.

Merchant / Payment Gateway Reconciliation

  • Reconcile daily and monthly transactions from payment gateway (e.g. Afterpay, PayPal and other providers.
  • Investigate chargebacks, refunds, fees, and settlement variances with merchant partners.

Inventory & ERP System Accounting

  • Reconcile inventory records between general ledger and ERP systems
  • Track cost of goods sold (COGS), landed costs, and SKU-level movements.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and rolling forecasts.
  • Analyze budget vs. actual variances and provide actionable financial insights.

Marketplace Order Refunds & Revenue Adjustments

  • Process, monitor and reconcile marketplace refunds and returns, including discount reversals, restocking fees, and net revenue impact.
  • Coordinate with customer service and operations to align financial records with order activity.

Royalties Accounting

  • Process and reconcile
    royalty payments and statements
    from suppliers or licensors.
  • Match contractual royalty rates with actual sales data and ensure accurate accruals and payments.

Reporting & Audit Support

  • Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with management reporting packs.
  • Support external audits by providing required schedules and reconciliations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Strong understanding of the Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB) framework
  • CPA (Philippines) preferred
  • Experience with Business Activity Statements (BAS)
  • Minimum
    5+ years of accounting experience
    , with
    2+ years supporting Australian clients or e-commerce operations (preferred)
    .
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with e-commerce and marketplace business models required.
