About the role

As an Azure Data Engineer at Ascendion, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing scalable, robust, and efficient data solutions on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. This full-time position is based in Makati City, Metro Manila, and will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven insights that support the company's strategic objectives.

What you'll be doing

  1. Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions on the Azure platform
  2. Implement and optimise Azure data services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and Azure SQL Database
  3. Ensure data quality, security, and reliability through the deployment of appropriate data governance policies and practices
  4. Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand and address their data requirements
  5. Continuously monitor and optimise data solutions to enhance performance and scalability
  6. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 3 years of experience as a data engineer or a similar role, with a strong focus on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform
  2. Proficient in designing and implementing data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and related Azure data services
  3. Hands-on experience with SQL, data modelling, and data engineering best practices
  4. Familiarity with Azure Databricks, Azure Cosmos DB, and other Azure data services
  5. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with cross-functional teams
