We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join our team and take responsibility for developing and governing our Data Platform. You will oversee the implementation and management of our solution on Azure Data Platform, with a strong focus on Azure services and technologies.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Azure Data Platform, relevant Azure certifications, and a proven track record in designing and implementing scalable, efficient, and secure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end implementation of our solution on Azure Data Platform, including design, deployment, and ongoing maintenance (executed by an external provider).
  • Provide technical expertise to ensure efficient and effective delivery, leveraging Azure capabilities.

  • Monitor and optimize performance, scalability, security, and compliance of the solution in Azure.

  • Work with cross-functional teams (data architects, developers, data scientists, data engineers) to refine solution architecture.

  • Partner with Data Ambassadors and the Data CoE to gather requirements, define scope, and manage expectations.

  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers.

  • Develop and manage data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouses for unified access and scalability.

  • Design and manage orchestration workflows to automate data processes.
  • Implement real-time data streaming solutions for timely insights.
  • Oversee deployment and monitoring of AI/ML models on Azure, collaborating with data scientists.

  • Stay updated on emerging Azure services, trends, and best practices to drive innovation.

  • Integrate data from diverse sources (SAP, Salesforce, DBs, SCADA, PIMS, etc.).

  • Ensure high standards of data quality, governance, security, and privacy.
  • Design and implement data consumption solutions to enable business users to access insights efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field (Master's in Business Administration, IT, or Data Science/Analytics desirable).

  • 4–8 years' proven experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on Azure Data Platform.

  • Strong proficiency in:

  • Azure Data Lake

  • Azure Databricks
  • Azure Data Factory
  • Azure Machine Learning
  • Microsoft Fabric
  • Azure Cognitive Services
  • Azure Cosmos DB (or other NoSQL DBs)
  • Expertise in data warehouse, lakehouse, and integration architecture.
  • Solid knowledge of Azure infrastructure, services, and architecture.
  • Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., DP-203 Azure Data Engineer Associate, AZ-305 Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions).

  • Familiarity with DAMA capabilities and data management disciplines.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and applying Agile methodologies.
