Property Accounting Specialist

We are looking for an individual to join the accounting team as
Accounting Support Specialist
to support a US-based property management company and an associated real estate fund. This hire will work closely with the fund accounting and property management teams to support various functions across accounting, finance, treasury, marketing, and operations.

Core Functions/Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records for acquisitions of real estate assets located across 4 geographic areas
  • Maintain tenant security ledger including updating tenant data and ongoing activity to ensure the tenant system accurately reflects monthly activity
  • Calculate related party revenues/expenses between the fund and property management company relating to property acquisition, renovations, and management fees
  • Verify necessary documents including tenant lease agreements, purchase agreements, and property deeds and surveys
  • Request wire payments for the purchase of homes, renovations, and ongoing operating expenses
  • Set up weekly wires and ACH for the property management company
  • Manage the bad debt write-off process
  • Perform data reconciliations between general ledgers, bank statements, and various reports from operational software.
  • Maintain data integrity to support data warehousing and automation efforts
  • Assist with inputting data for portfolio valuations via independent third-party appraiser
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to achieve operational efficiency as the fund grows.

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in business administration or accounting, accounting licensure is a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of rental Real Estate, property management, and accounting for these products.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of investment accounting a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Proper accounting skills, including knowledge of IFRS and financial statement presentation for investment companies.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to manage projects, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office products, emphasis on Excel.
  • Must be willing to
    report twice a week
    in Pasig City, Philippines on a night shift schedule from 9PM to 6AM PHT.
