Full job description

The Head of Construction Management is accountable for the overall leadership and direction of all construction's operations. This role is critical in ensuring that the project is delivered efficiently, safely, on schedule, and within budget, while upholding the highest standards of quality. The position involves overseeing project teams, facilitating coordination among clients, consultants, and subcontractors, and ensuring strict adherence to all regulatory and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Oversees from planning to execution and delivery of the construction project from start to completion.
  • Team Management: Leading and Supervising the construction project team from Engineers to site administrative staff
  • Budget and Cost Control: Participating in project budgets and monitoring the expenditures to ensure that the project remains within the allocated budget.
  • Scheduling and Timelines: Developing and maintaining project schedules,
  • Contract Administration: Manage contracts and ensure all parties fulfill contractual obligations; resolve disputes as needed.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the main point of contact between clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies to reduce delays or cost overruns.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare progress reports, technical documentation, and project evaluations for internal and client use.

Qualifications

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
  • A Master's degree or postgraduate certification is an advantage.
  • Professional Certifications (Preferred):
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
  • Occupational Safety and Health certifications
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in construction management, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing mid to large-scale construction projects.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD)
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, codes, safety regulations, and contract law.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
  • Licenses:
  • Valid professional engineer license (if applicable)
  • Driver's license (for site travel, if required)
