The
Merchandising and Buying Manager
provides strategic leadership in sourcing, assortment planning, and category management across gaming consoles, video games, PC hardware, tech gadgets, peripherals, and accessories. This role ensures that the company maintains a competitive, well-curated product mix that reflects current market trends and supports overall business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end buying activities, including product selection, vendor negotiations, pricing, and assortment planning.
  • Analyze market insights, gaming/tech trends, sales performance, and customer demand to develop data-driven merchandising strategies.
  • Manage supplier relationships, secure competitive costs, and ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.
  • Monitor inventory levels, sell-through rates, and category performance to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Sales, Warehouse, and Marketing teams for launches, promotions, and stock allocation.
  • Implement solutions for slow-moving items (markdowns, bundling, promotional activities).
  • Ensure merchandise decisions support budget targets, brand standards, and customer expectations.
  • Prepare regular reports on forecasts, performance, and budget utilization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or any related field.
  • Must have track record in a managerial capacity for merchandising and buying for at least 5 years (preferably in retail, tech, or gaming industry).
  • Strong knowledge of gaming, consumer electronics, and current tech trends is highly preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in data analysis, sales forecasting, and inventory planning.
  • Strong decision-making skills with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple categories simultaneously.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
