SUMMARY

The Virtualization Systems Administrator is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining large-scale virtualization environments. This role ensures system reliability, high availability, and optimal performance across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Linux KVM, VMware vSphere, and cloud orchestration platforms such as Apache CloudStack, along with excellent troubleshooting and automation skills.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


• Design, deploy, and maintain virtualization infrastructure built on Linux KVM and Apache CloudStack.

• Perform routine monitoring, maintenance, patching, and troubleshooting of VMware vSphere and vCenter environments.

• Administer and maintain company and client Windows Server environments.

• Deploy, manage, and optimize Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions.

• Support and maintain VoIP systems and related communication platforms.

• Install, configure, and maintain enterprise server and storage hardware (e.g., Dell servers, SANs).

• Monitor system capacity and performance across KVM and VMware platforms.

• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks proactively.

• Automate infrastructure management tasks using scripting.

• Serve as an escalation point for complex virtualization and hardware issues.

• Develop and maintain documentation for configurations and procedures.

• Plan and implement backup, high-availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR) strategies.

• Recommend and implement system improvements and performance optimizations.


QUALIFICATIONS


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent work experience).

• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in enterprise-level virtualization environments.

• Strong technical experience with Linux KVM hypervisors and VMware vSphere/vCenter.

• Solid understanding of cloud orchestration platforms (preferably Apache CloudStack).

• Proficiency in Linux and Windows Server administration.

• Experience with VDI solutions (VMware Horizon, Citrix, etc.).

• Familiarity with VoIP infrastructure support and troubleshooting.

• Proven experience managing enterprise hardware (Dell servers, SANs).

• Knowledge of networking concepts related to virtualization (VLANs, SDN).

• Experience in infrastructure upgrade and migration projects.

• Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Certifications:

• VMWare (VCP), Red Hat, ITIL, or Fortinet NSE4 (and above)


JOB REQUIREMENTS


• Must be willing to work on a permanent night shift schedule.

• Must be open to a long-term work-from-home setup.
