Job Summary
The Senior NOC Manager is responsible for overseeing the 24/7 operations of the Network Operations Center, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security of the organization's infrastructure and services. This role leads a team of NOC engineers, manages escalations, and works cross-functionally to maintain SLA, minimize downtime, and support critical network systems.
Responsibilities:
Oversee 24/7 NOC Operations
- Manage daily operations of the Network Operations Center to ensure continuous monitoring and support of network and infrastructure systems.
- Ensure proper shift coverage, operational handovers, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop NOC engineers to maintain high performance and technical expertise.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide training, and establish development plans for the team.
Incident & Escalation Management
- Handle critical incidents, major outages, and service degradations with urgency and efficiency.
- Act as the highest escalation point for network issues and coordinate resolution efforts across teams.
Service Level Agreement (SLA) Compliance
- Monitor and ensure compliance with SLAs for uptime, response times, and resolution targets.
- Implement proactive measures to prevent SLA breaches and minimize downtime.
Network Performance & Reliability
- Oversee monitoring tools and systems to detect performance issues before they impact service.
- Analyze trends, identify recurring issues, and recommend improvements to network stability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering, security, IT, and customer service teams to align operational goals.
- Support project rollouts, system upgrades, and infrastructure changes with minimal service disruption.
Process Improvement & Documentation
- Develop, refine, and enforce NOC processes, escalation paths, and troubleshooting guides.
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, resolutions, and infrastructure changes.
Reporting & Analysis
- Provide regular operational reports, incident summaries, and performance metrics to senior management.
- Use data insights to drive operational improvements and resource planning.
Security & Compliance
- Ensure network operations adhere to security policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with security teams during incident response and threat mitigation.
Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery
- Participate in and oversee testing of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Ensure readiness of the NOC to respond to large-scale network incidents.
Qualifications
· years of experience in network operations, IT infrastructure, or technical support.
· At least 3 years of experience as a manager or leading a NOC or IT operations team.
· Strong knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, etc.)
· Familiarity with server, storage, cloud, and virtualization technologies
· Experience with network monitoring and incident management tools.
· Scripting or automation (e.g. Python, Bash) is a plus
· Strong leadership and team management capabilities
· Excellent problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
· Customer-oriented mindset with a focus on service excellence.
